Star Sponsors Yilo Krobo Festival

THE ANNUAL festival of the chiefs and people of the Yilo Krobo traditional area in the Eastern Region starts this year from Thursday and climaxes on Saturday with a double-headed programme: a grand durbar and a state dance, all at Somanya.

In support of the festival, Ghana Breweries Limited's (GBL) Star Larger Beer brand last week donated a sponsorship package to the chiefs and people of Yilo Krobo.

The package consisted of media advertising for the festival, branded T-Shirts, assorted Ghana Breweries' products, a cash donation for development projects in the area and prizes for winners of a "Miss Star Kloyosikplemi 2002" pageant at Saturday's state dance.

Mr. Isaac Nyanteh, Senior Brand Manager (Star) presented the package, which was received at the Somanya Palace by elders, including Nana Korlekuor Adjado IV, Queenmother; Nene Akpatsu Azza IV, Vice-President of the Yilo Krobo Traditional Council; Nene Doku Akorble and Nene Anate Agor-Okper.
