Speed up work on Gbebu-Glefe road - Unit Committee member

Accra, Sept. 2, GNA - Mr J.K. Kotoku, Sakumor Unit Committee Member, on Tuesday appealed to the government to intervene to resolve a problem that has arisen in the construction of Gbebu-Glefe road, near Dansoman last stop.

He told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Accra that the construction of the road is slow because owners of buildings in the path of the road are resisting their demolition.

A week ago the Assembly Member of the area, Mr Abednego Tettey-Tetteh drew the attention of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) to the problem and a team of engineers led by Mr I. B. Armah, Maintenance Officer of AMA, was dispatched to the site.

The Mr Tettey-Tetteh said, even though, the team recommended that the buildings should be demolished, nothing has been done about it as yet.
