Some 4239 take BECE exams in Ketu

Denu, Apr 21, GNA - Some 4,239 candidates in Ketu South and Ketu North districts are writing this year's Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), which took off on Monday at centres in the two districts.

They are made up of 2,358 boys 1,881 girls. Eighteen centres are being used in the five-day examination in which candidates are being tested in 10 subjects.

Mr Jacob Doegah, Ketu South District Director of Education who is supervising the examinations in the two districts, said except for a few absentees all was well with the conduct of the examinations so far. At the Klikor Secondary/Technical and Avoeme Junior High School centres visited by the GNA all 245 and 421 candidates respectively were present.

Supervisors at those centres told the GNA that examination materials had arrived on time and intact and compliance of pupils with the rules and regulations were so far excellent.
