Sixty-four pass out from Nerebehi ICCES

Nerebehi (Ash), Aug 6, GNA - Sixty-four young people made up of 35 regular students and 29 students of the Skills Training for Employable Programme (STEP) have passed out from the Nerebehi Integrated Community Centre for Employable Skills (ICCES).

They were taught carpentry, joinery, catering, dressmaking, batik tie and dye, soap making and pomade making.

Speaking at the passing out ceremony, Mrs Comfort Wireko-Brobbey, the Executive Director of Bibiani Lumber and Logging Company Limited, lauded the government's efforts to combat youth unemployment and the rural-urban drift through training programmes.

Mr Robert Yaw Bah, the Centre manager said analysis of the 2003 National Vocational Training Institute's (NVTI) examination showed a remarkable improvement over the 2000 results.

The centre scored 89 per cent in the 2003 examination as against 78 per cent in 2002.
