Six farmers in police custody for alleged murder

Wa, Nov. 10, GNA- Six farmers of Pulima village, near Tumu in the Sisala District are helping the Tumu police in their investigations into the murder of a 20-year-old Fulani herdsman, Yahaya Amadu.

The suspects are Alhaji Ibrahim Bako, 59, Alidu Musah, 51, Mahama Issah, 30, Musah Mahama, 21, Mohammed Alidu, 19, and James Konapia, 50. Briefing the Ghana News Agency at Wa on Monday, Inspector Daniel Dorkpoh, Upper West Regional Police Public Relations Officer, said on October 30, this year, Fuseini Amadu, a Burkinabe and elder brother of the deceased called at the Tumu police station to report the disappearance of his younger brother.

Consequently, a search party was organised leading to the discovery of the body of Yahaya Amadu at the outskirts of Pulima village. Preliminary police investigations at the scene of the crime indicated that the deceased was murdered as shown by several marks of violence on his body.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Tumu Government Hospital Mortuary, while the suspects are being processed for court, Inspector Dorkpoh said.
