Six Schools Battle For Nzemaland Inter-District Independence Quiz Competition

An Inter-District Quiz Competition event aimed at honouring the Independence anniversary is expected to take place on Thursday, 5, 2015 at the Half Assini District Assembly Hall in the Jomoro District of the Western.

The quiz event which is the maiden edition is proudly sponsored by 'SAIGHA FOUNDATION', a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in Nzema.

The event dubbed 2015 Nzema Inter-District Quiz Competition is expected to be held among the three Municipal and District Assemblies within Nzemaland; namely Nzema East Municipality, Ellembele District and Jomoro District Assemblies respectively.

Six Junior High Schools are meritoriously selected from the three Municipal and District Assemblies to participate in the competition.

The schools include St Augustinus Junior High School and Morning Star Junior High School, Axim in the Nzema East Municipality, from Ellembele District, Mayflower Junior High School and Anglican Junior High School also based in Ayinanse respectively, from Jomoro District, Christ the King Junior High School, Half Assini and Allengenzule Junior High School based in Tikobo 1.

The Executive Director of Programmes of Nzema Events Management organizers and promoters of the event, Mr. Koame Adonle Mieza disclosed that the event will be an annual event which is targeted at encouraging and award students and schools within the area.

According to him, the participating schools were selected based on their performance in the 2014 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), thus the first and second positions on the league table in their various respective Districts.

He added that awards will be given to all the six participating schools and Districts ranging from trophy which shall be kept by the winning District or Municipality, plagues for all schools, text books, certificates of honour and participation and cash prizes to schools.

Mr. Adonle Mieza further commended 'SAIGHA FOUNDATION' for sponsoring the event as well as the various agencies responsible for the education sector, thus the Municipal and District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service within the Nzema area and the Office of the Member of Parliament for Jomoro Constituency, Hon. Wing Commander Francis Anaman Rtd.
