Shama to benefit from social facilities

Shama (W/R), July 15, - The Shama District Assembly is undertaking some projects in Shama with its internally generated fund at a cost of GHc100, 000.

The projects include the construction of a 10-seat water closet toilet, a borehole, football field and a volley ball pitch for the Shama Senior High School and the town would also benefit from a football field. The District Chief Executive for Shama, Mr. Enoch Kojo Appiah, said at a sod-cutting ceremony held in Shama on Friday that the Assembly was committed to improving the facilities to create favourable environment for teaching and learning. The Shama Senior High School football field would cost GHc20, 000, the town's football field will cost GH18, 000, the seater water closet toilet will cost GHc35, 000 and the cost of the borehole is GHc12, 000. The Headmistress of the Shama Senior High School, Mrs Regina Obiri, expressed her profound gratitude to the Assembly.

"When these projects are completed it'll enhance sporting activiti= es in the school and ensure proper time management since the students will not shuttle from here to the community for Physical Education," she said.
