Seven communities benefit from SHEP.

Bibiani (WR), Nov 15, GNA - Seven communities in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai District have been hooked to the national electricity grid through the Self-Help Electrification Project (SHEP). Mr Kingsley Adjei-Manu, the District Chief Executive, mentioned the beneficiary communities as Adupi, Adukrom, Surano, Anyinase, Akaasu, Merewa and Kwamekrom.

He said seven other communities in the District have been selected to benefit from the same programme and these are Fahiako, Chine, Muoho, Nkronua, Domineho Number One, Ntakam, Besiekrom and Chiraa. Mr Adjei-Manu said the project would be completed by the end of December.

He said that a total road network of 146 kilometres has been rehabilitated in the district and that some road contractors had failed to work on some of the roads. On Sanitation, he said the district assembly has purchased a refuse truck, built refuse containers and constructed a number of public toilets in a bid to manage sanitation in the district. He called on assembly members and other community leaders, Area Councils and Unit Committees to mount educational programmes on sanitation and other health related issues.
