Seven-bedroom house razed down by fire in Ashanti Region

Over fourteen people at Aboabo No. 2 in the Asokore Mampong Municipality of the Ashanti Region have been rendered homeless after fire gutted their home on Thursday.

The fire, which started about 1:05pm, destroyed property including electrical appliances such as television sets, refrigerators, sound systems, clothes and furniture.

Mustapha Ibrahim, a victim, says but for the timely response by personnel of the fire service, the inferno could have spread to other adjoining buildings in the neighborhood.

Visibly worried, Mustapha said they have nowhere to go insisting that he and his family will pass the night in the open.

Other victims revealed that their future hang in the balance as monies being used in their small trading businesses have been lost to the fire.

Meanwhile, the Ghana National Fire Service is yet to ascertain the cause of the fire.

No casualty has since been recorded.
