Sekyere West assembly presents water tanks to hospital

Mampong (Ash), Oct 11, GNA- The Sekyere West District Assembly on Thursday presented two water tanks purchased at a cost of 20 million cedis to the Asante-Mampong Government Hospital.

The tanks have the capacity of 7,500 gallons of water and were purchased from the assembly's share of the common fund.

Making the presentation on behalf of the assembly, Mr Samuel Okyere Kusi-Appiah, the District Co-ordinating Director, said the assembly was aware of the water problem facing the hospital. He said the donation, therefore, was to alleviate the water problem.

Dr George Acquaye, Medical Superintendent of the hospital, who received the tanks, expressed appreciation to the assembly for the items.

He said the assembly had met the "crying need of the hospital" and that it had come to facilitate the hospital's sanitation improvement drive.

Dr Acquaye was equally happy that the tanks will solve the problem of nurses residing at the nurses quarters who use precious working hours looking for water.
