Security agencies in Nkoranza commended

Madam Stella Amoatemaa, Nkoranza South Municipal Chief Executive, has commended security agencies in the Municipality for their hard work and efforts to combat crime.

She said their patrols had been effective with the reduction of armed robberies, while periodic swoops had reduced the trafficking and use of narcotic drugs in the Municipality.

Madam Amoatemaa made the commendation when addressing the second ordinary meeting of the assembly at Nkoranza.

She stressed the need for the people to assist the security agencies with information on activities of miscreants to maintain the prevailing peace in the communities.

Madam Amoatemaa expressed concern about poor revenue mobilization in the communities and said a revenue task force would be established soon to operate at revenue barriers to be set up at Kyeradeso, Ahyiayem, Salamkrom, Papaasi, Nwoase and Bonsu.

She said 30 boreholes had been completed in some communities under the Rural Small Town Water Supply and Sanitation Project being financed by the Agience Franciase Development (AFD) while Ayerede and Nkwabeng were benefiting from the Sustainable Rural Water and Sanitation Project being financed by the International Development Agency (IDA) and the World Bank.

Madam Amoatemaa urged the assembly members to encourage the people to undertake routine clean-up exercises to promote environmental sanitation in the communities to prevent the spread of communicable diseases.

Mr Akrapim Baffoe, Presiding Member of the Assembly, urged the assembly members to encourage the people to honour their tax obligations to enable the assembly generate the revenue for development.
