School celebrates Ghana@50 with route march.

Denu (V/R), Feb. 15, GNA - Teachers and about 1,500 pupils of the Amazing Love School, a private basic school at Denu, heralded the country's 50th anniversary celebration at Denu and Aflao with a route march through the main streets accompanied by brass band music. The school, which this year will receive its fifth presidential award for academic excellence in the BECE since 1998, has incorporated the programme to celebrate its achievement into the Ghana @ 50 events. Some of the placards read "One nation one people one destiny," "Hold high Ghana's banner," Unity in focus," "Amazing Love- A quality school in great Ghana" and "Amazing Love, Hope in building a classy human resource".

The march, which was to announce the school's performance as the only one the Volta Region to have won the award for this number of times, was to motivate the pupils, teachers and others outside the school community to work hard in whichever field they find themselves. Mr Albert Agbodo, the Headmaster, advised the pupils to build high moral values and to learn hard to justify the huge investment being made in them. He also asked adults to live up to their civic and social responsibilities by uniting to build a great country in the interest of future generations. Mr Agbodo called for the involvement of the entire population in activities planned for the jubilee celebrations. 15 Feb 07
