Salaga South NDC candidate donates handwashing kit to Salaga market

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate for Salaga South Constituency of the Savannah Region, Hajia Zuwera Ibrahimah has donated handwashing kits to patrons of the Salaga old market and the Salaga bus station on Saturday 21st March, 2020.

The items donated included hand washing containers (Veronica buckets) and liquid soap for the market women and their customers as well as drivers, passengers and the general public who visit the market and lorry parks to transact business.

The Salaga South Constituency Executives of the NDC who presented the items on behalf of their Parliamentary candidate Haji Zuwera Ibrahimah explained that the donation comes after an appeal from the former President and Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama directing all members of the NDC to join hands and help the government to fight the coronavirus across the country.

The Executives said the items will enable those at the market wash their hands as part of measures announced by the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus.

In response to the donation, representatives of the market women and Chairman of the Salaga Branch of the Ghana Private Road and Transport Union (GPRTU) expressed their appreciation for the gesture from Hajia Zuwera Ibrahimah and promised to make proper use of the items donated.
