The Member of Parliament for the Salaga South Constituency, Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimiah, has praised key actors and stakeholders who continue to play vital roles in strengthening Ghana’s democratic governance.
Speaking on the floor of Parliament on December 11, 2025, Ibrahimiah noted that these individuals and institutions have remained consistent in their commitment to enhancing the nation’s political environment.
She highlighted their sustained efforts in promoting transparency, accountability and good governance, adding that their contributions to the fight against corruption cannot be overlooked.
She explained that "Ghana’s democratic progress has been significantly influenced and enriched by the work of these stakeholders, whose efforts have helped uphold democratic values and ensure the effective functioning of governance systems."
Concluding her remarks, Ibrahimiah expressed strong support for the motion seeking to establish the headquarters of Afrobarometer in Ghana.
She stated that hosting the research organization would further reinforce the country’s leadership on the continent in democratic development, governance reforms, and credible data generation.
She emphasised that, considering these benefits, she fully endorses the motion and looks forward to the positive impact the establishment of the Afrobarometer headquarters would bring to Ghana’s democratic advancement.
