Sagnarigu MCE cuts sod for 5 projects

The Municipal Chief Executive for Sagnarigu, Hon Iddrisu Mariam has cut sod to commence the construction of five (5) infrastructure projects in the Municipality.

The infrastructure projects include construction of a Market in Sagnarigu, Clinic at Shishegu, Clinic at Kogni, a three-unit classroom block at Kpene and Gbalahi.

The construction of the projects funded through the District Development Facility (DDF), District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) and Internally Generated Fund (IGF) is expected to complete within 6 months.

The Sagnarigu MCE speaking after the sod cutting ceremony said, the projects forms part of the Assembly’s responsibility to provide infrastructure development to the area, adding that, the projects will go a long way to improve the social service delivery in the Municipality.

Hon Mariam said, education and health still remains the top most priority of the Assembly, saying that, the Nana Addo led NPP government is committed to make education and health care more accessible to all.

“Children walk from far distance to access education, and Gbalahi is the central point that’s why we have chosen Gbalahi to build three-unit classrooms so that the children can have easy access to school”.

On the health centers, Hon Mariam said, the projects when completed will provide quality primary healthcare to the beneficial communities and therefore called on the various community leaders to also supervise the project.

Handing over the projects to the contractors, the Sagnarigu MCE urged them to complete the projects on schedule to enable the communities to benefit from the projects.



The Municipal Director of Education, Madam Samata Mahama thanked the Assembly for the educational projects and therefore tasked head teachers of the beneficial schools to own the projects and monitor the progress of work.

One of the contractors, Mr. Shamuna Salifu, CEO of Shamo Contractions Limited assured the Assembly and the beneficial communities of quality work.

“I will complete the work within the scheduled period but with the help of the Assembly” he said

The chiefs and people of the communities commended the Nana Addo led government for the good work it has been doing since assumption of office and also thanked the MCE, Hon Iddrisu Mariam for bringing such developmental projects to their communities.

The Chiefs again commended the Sagnarihu MCE for working very assiduously to bring the needed development to the area and thus pledge their unflinching support for her to succeed.
