Saboba DCE donates to conflict victims

The District Chief Executive of Saboba, Hon. George Bingrini has presented relief items to victims of the recent tribal conflict which occurred early January 2019 between Chokosis and Konkombas in the Chereponi and Saboba Districts of the Northern Region which resulted in the burning down of several houses, foodstuffs and properties.

The items included bundles of clothes, bags of maize, blankets, and treated mosquito nets.

Hon. George Bingrini was accompanied by a team of Security officers which included personnel from the Presiding Member of Saboba District Assembly, Ghana Police Service, Bureau of National Investigations, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Armed Forces, the first Vice Chairman of the NPP for Saboba Constituency, a host media men and National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO)

The District Chief Executive inspected the damaged houses and facilities and commiserated with families of the victims and urged to bring back their relatives who fled to neighbouring Togo and Chereponi.

The District Chief Executive and his team used the opportunity to pay a courtesy call on the Nambiri Chief where he briefed him on government’s commitment to deal with the factors that led to conflict and also finding various ways of re-integrating the victims back into their respective communities.
