SIF approves projects for Central Region

Breman Kokoso, Oct 13, GNA - The government has approved 86 projects under the Social Investment Fund (SIF) for some districts in the Central Region.

The Asikuma-Odeben-Brakwa District has the highest share of 19 projects of which the government is spending 3.5 billion cedis. The projects include health and education structures.

The completed projects are at Breman-Brakwa, Kokoso, Ejurakesie, Afofofo, and Breman Ahiaso.

Mrs Nkrumah said community-based organisations in the districts contributed nearly 600 million cedis, while the district assembly also provided about 300 million cedis towards the projects. She commended CBOs for their contributions and advised them to continue in the same spirit to accelerate the development of the district.

Mrs Nkrumah counselled the district assembly, chiefs and members of the various wings of government in the area not to relent in their efforts to transform the district through hard work and commitment to national goals.

Mr Samson Ansako, the DCE, and Nana Kokoso, Chief of Breman Kokoso expressed their appreciation to the government and assured that the assembly, chief and other stakeholders in the district would keep up to ensure speedy implementation of the remaining projects.
