Rotary Club of Kumasi and Kumasi East elects new executives

Kumasi, Oct. 16, GNA - The Rotary Club of Kumasi and Kumasi East Club on Friday organised a mini ball in the metropolis, to usher into office new presidents and directors of the charity organisation.

The personnel were inducted into office by Mr Charles Agboka and Nana Yaw Owusu, past presidents of the club.

Dr Kwame Antwi, President of Kumasi Club said he was aware of the task ahead and expressed the hope that with the support of the directors and the entire members the organisation would thrive.

He said although the enthusiasm of members is waning, the new executives would step up efforts to rekindle their spirit to be able to serve the needs of their communities.

The new president said plans are far advanced for the construction of a rotary centre to provide offices for the two clubs in addition to a computer training centre at Mbrom in Kumasi.

Mr Abraham Appiah-Fei, President of Kumasi East, said the club provides members the opportunity to improve the well-being of the people.

"We travel and with other Rotarians, we have the privilege of working together, participate in programmes that expand our horizons, we enjoy fellowship that is generously and freely-given".

Mr Appiah-Fei who has been re-elected for another year term, said the club was able to provide wash rooms, potable water, medical equipment and educational materials, training of medical officers and furnishing of schools and clinics for many communities in the Ashanti region.
