The Ministry of Roads and Highways has confirmed progress in investigations into the damage to a footbridge located between Fiesta Royal Hotel and Nogahill Hotel on the N1 Highway.

In a post on February 8, 2026, the Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Agbodza, said investigations were advancing with the involvement of relevant state agencies.

“We have made progress. The police are in touch with the owners of the vehicle, the Ministry of Roads and Highways, and other relevant bodies to advance the investigation, assess the level of damage, and prescribe the necessary repairs,” he stated.

The minister also expressed appreciation to officials and members of the public who have supported the process.

“I appreciate the efforts of the Minister responsible for the Interior, the IGP, police, and members of the public who have been in touch to provide vital information,” he added.

This follows an earlier statement issued on February 6, in which the Roads Minister called on the owner of the vehicle involved to cooperate fully with the authorities.

“The beneficial owner of the vehicle which caused this extensive damage to the footbridge between Fiesta Royal and Nogahill Hotel on the N1 Highway must immediately report to the police, assist with the investigation, and take responsibility for the repair,” he said.

Kwame Agbodza stressed that timely action and accountability are essential to restoring the damaged infrastructure and preventing further disruption to road users along the busy N1 Highway.
