Rev Baffoe inducted as Superintendent Minister

Manso-Atwere (Ash), Feb. 16, GNA - The Very Reverend John Mensah was on Sunday inducted into office as the Superintendent Minister of the Manso-Atwere Methodist circuit in the Amansie West district of Ashanti. The Right Reverend Benjamin K. Asare, the Methodist Bishop of Obuasi, who officiated, called on priests to show special love and care towards the sick and give the faithful spiritual nourishment.

Bishop Asare noted that a priest's call was to be the light, teacher, preacher, comforter and counsellor to the faithful and therefore charged priests not to forget their calling.

He urged parents to invest more in their children's education instead of dissipating their meagre resources on unprofitable ventures so as to enable their children become useful citizens. Nana Moses Antwi II, Krontihene of Manso-Atwere, who chaired the function, commended the Methodist Church for its developmental projects in the areas of education and health.

He asked the diocese to open a clinic at Manso-Atwere to cater for the health needs of the people.

Nana Antwi also called for the launching of an education endowment fund to support brilliant but needy students in the town to further their education to the highest level.
