The new paramount chief of Kwahu in the Eastern Region, Daasebre Akuamoah Agyepong II, has called on all residents of the town who fled Kwahu Abene due to chieftaincy disputes to return home and join in the efforts to develop the traditional area.

Addressing the people of Kwahu on his installation at Kwahu Abene, the new chief urged his people to be united and pledged to operate an open-door administration.

He noted that he would welcome positive ideas from groups and individuals towards the development of Kwahu.

For his part, the Adontenhene of Kwahu, Nana Asiedu Agyemang lll, who hitherto acted as Kwahumanhene, commended the kingmakers of Abene for the peaceful manner they went about the Omanhene’s installation despite initial setbacks, and hoped such cooperation and peace would continue.

He appealed to businessmen and women to put together their resources to assist the new overlord of Kwahu to enable him develop the area.

The Queen mother of Kwahu, Nana Ama Gyemfua II, thanked all those who assisted and stood by the kingmakers during the trying times and urged them to continue cooperating at all times.

The inauguration brought together all the chiefs in Kwahu, the business community, identifiable groups and individuals.

The new Kwahuhene is known in private life as Eugene Asante Boadi and holds an MBA in Finance and Investment Banking from Lincoln University, California USA, and a BSc in Administration (Accounting Option) from the University of Ghana Business School. He is a member of the Association of Charted Accountants (ACCA, UK) and belongs to other professional bodies.

He is married with two children and an old student of St Peter's Senior High School at Kwahu Nkwatia.
