Residents of Booobookurom wants road rehabilitated

Nkoranza (B/A) Sept. 27, GNA - Residents of Boobookurom, a settler farming community in Nkoranza District of the Brong Ahafo Region have appealed to government to rehabilitate the three kilometre feeder road linking Asonkwaa to the area to facilitate economic activities. Mr Solomon Lonyomu Sanamu, Regent of the area, told the Ghana News Agency at Nkoranza that due to the deplorable nature of the road, farmers could not transport farm produce including yam, maize, millet and groundnuts to marketing centres.

He appealed to the government to initiate measures aimed at solving problems that confront the agriculture sector. Mr Sanamu, who was adjudged Brong-Ahafo Regional Best Farmer in 1993, appealed to farmers to put up their best to increase production. He said the area lacked basic amenities and requested the government to provide the people with good drinking water and to build a school for the community.
