Residents living along the Achiansa, Dome and Kuano feeder road in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region have appealed to government to come to their aid and help reshape their damaged road.

Asafoatse Emmanuel Teddy Adade and Nkondwa-hene Attah Korley, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said the opinion leaders meeting at Achiansa were there to seek solutions to the deplorable road and the damaged bridge over the Kua River.

The bad feeder road stretches from Achiansa through Dome to Kuano and joins the Suhum- Asamankese main road.

They said each time it rained the feeder road became impassable, as a result the farmers could not go to sell their food items at Suhum to get money.

Asafoatse Adade said over the last two years, several appeals to the previous government through the Ayensuano District Assembly did not yield result, and that the situation had brought untold economic hardships to the people,

He said the assembly was aware that foodstuffs abound in the area and that when drivers stop plying the route, food items would go rotten and thereby deprive the farmers in the area of their economic livelihood.

He said the only improvised bridge from Achiansa to Accra Village and beyond has totally collapsed, making it extremely difficult for school children from the village to cross to school, while it equally difficult for farmers to cross to their farms.

Asafoatse Adade, Nkondwa-hene Korley, Stool Elder Okru Akuffo and the Unit Committee members in the Kuano Electoral Area appealed for immediate construction of a new bridge and reshaping of their feeder road.
