Rehabilitate Praso-Obuasi Junction Road

Accra, Dec. 24, GNA - Mr. Kwabina Badu, Chairman of GPRTU Branch four at the Neoplan station on Monday called on the Ghana Highway Authority to rehabilitate the road network from Praso in the Central Region to Obuasi junction.

He said the road had developed huge potholes that could cause accidents if care was not taken. In an interview with GNA in Accra he said, often, authorities turn deaf ears to some of these problems until the situation got out of hand. "We should not wait for a "big man" to become a victim of accidents before necessary measures are taken to address such problems", he said.

He was however happy that the station had not recorded any accident so far in the last quarter of the year. Mr. Badu attributed this to frequent training on road safety regulations, which the union had been organising for its drivers periodically.

He said upon assumption of office four years ago, he instituted a three-day fasting and prayer session for all the drivers in every week, adding; "One needs to combine physical training and spiritual measures to achieve a particular aim." Mr. Badu advised all drivers to drive carefully and wished them merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.
