Rehabilitate Afrancho-Achiase-Ntibuoho road - Ministry urged

Kumasi, July 13, GNA - An appeal has been made to the Ministry of Roads and Highway to rehabilitate Afrancho-Achiase-Ntribuoho road to save the main Barekese pipelines from destruction.

Mr Sampson Adu-Poku, Assembly member for Ntribuoho in the Kwabre District who made the appeal said the big pipelines lay bare due to erosion and risked destruction by the heavy-duty trucks that carry quarry stones on the road.

Speaking to the press in Kumasi on Sunday, the Assembly member expressed concern about the neglect of the road for almost two years now.

Mr Adu-Poku said it was time the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) took action to protect the pipelines, which supply water to the Kumasi Metropolis and its environs from being destroyed due to neglect. The Assembly member said he decided to make the appeal because all the information he had about the road was that it had been awarded on contract since last year but nothing had been done on it.
