Registration smooth at Mfantseman and Gomoa

Kormantse (C/R), March 17, GNA - Methodist Church 'A' and B Polling Stations in Kormantse in the Mfantseman District registered 157 and 124 respectively as at 1.45p.m. when GNA visited the stations on the opening day of the exercise on Tuesday.

Mr Josiah Walker and Mr George Walker, supervisors at the two polling stations described the patronage as very encouraging. Only polling agents of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) were present at the polling stations. At Yamoransa Traditional Council Offices Polling Station 36 voters were registered as at 11.00a.m. At the Old District Council Offices at Saltpond, 55 voters were registered as at 1.30p.m.

In an interaction Mr John Mensah, Mfantseman District Electoral Officer said no complaints had been received from the field. A similar visit to some polling stations in Gomoa revealed that the exercise was moving on smoothly without any hitch.

At Apam Asafo No.1 Polling Station 84 voters were registered as at 5.00p.m. whilst 75 were registered at Apostolic Church Polling Station also at Apam as at 5.10p.m.

Like the stations visited at Mfantseman only NPP and NDC had agents at the polling stations.
