Rainstorm hits Asamang-Tamfoe community near Anyinam

Asamang-Tamfoe (E/R), March 12, GNA - At least 100 people have been rendered homeless when a severe rainstorm hit Asamang-Tanfoe, near Anyinam in the East Akim district.

The storm, which occurred last Sunday, also destroyed properties valued at several millions of cedis, local authorities have estimated. The affected properties included electricity cables, school blocks, public and private buildings and food crops.

Okyeame Amoako Dwomoh who conducted the GNA round the town, commended the MP for Atiwa, Dr Charles Bimpong-Yeboah for donating 12 bulbs to restore the street lighting in the town.

He appealed to the district assembly and benevolent organisations to come to the aid of the victims.
