The Queen Mother of Akyem Ati, Nana Brempomah Amoafoa II, has reaffirmed her commitment to advancing education and social development as key drivers of national growth. Speaking at the climax of her one-year anniversary celebration as Queen Mother, the former Regional Director of the Ghana Education Service underscored the pivotal role of education in transforming communities.

‎Addressing the media, Nana Amoafoa II described education as “the most powerful tool for community and national transformation” and demonstrated her dedication by distributing 4,000 exercise books to pupils in basic schools within the municipality.

Through the Municipal Education Directorate, led by Grace Adza-Wude, she also sponsored 22 needy but brilliant students, providing them with school uniforms, books, shoes, and bags to ease financial burdens on their parents.

‎Beyond education, the Queen Mother highlighted strides in healthcare, revealing the successful provision of a CHPS compound in collaboration with Gifty Twum-Ampofo, former MP for Abuakwa North. She announced plans to extend similar health projects to Sabon Zongo, another community within Akyem Ati.

‎Despite progress, Nana Amoafoa II acknowledged persistent challenges facing the community, including boundary disputes with New Tafo, land litigation, and increasing drug abuse among the youth. She warned against involvement in illicit activities such as internet fraud, urging young people to pursue skills training and hard work.

‎“We are working with government and partners to equip our youth with employable skills, ensuring long-term solutions to unemployment,” she stated.

Grace Adza-Wude, Municipal Education Director, praised the Queen Mother’s initiatives and urged parents to support their children’s education. “Development begins with education, and we must all embrace it fully,” she emphasised.

‎As Nana Amoafoa II concluded her anniversary celebrations, she expressed gratitude to sponsors supporting her vision and pledged further expansions in education, healthcare, and youth empowerment. Her leadership continues to inspire hope for a brighter future in Akyem Ati.
