Psychiatric Hospital receives donation

The Ghana Museums and Monuments Board Ladies Association, on Tuesday donated items worth GHS 630.00 to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital (APH), in Accra.

The items include two maxi bags of rice, 100 pieces of bread, two cartons of key soap, half bag of sugar, two boxes of Cowbell beverage, 100 pieces of plastic cups and used clothing’s.

Presenting the items, Naana Nyarkua Ocran, President of the Association, said the presentation was to support the children in the hospital and that it forms part of activities marking this year’s international museums day celebration.

She said the donation was to extend love to the inmates, especially the children, since they formed part of society and needed to be shown affection as other normal human beings in society.

Mrs Ocran pledged the association’s continues support for the children, saying “we hope our little support would go a long way to help the children, physically, psychologically and spiritually”.

Madam Doris Totimeh Phillips, Deputy Director, Nursing Service, APH expressed gratitude to the association for the kind gesture, and appealed to them to continue supporting the hospital in diverse ways.
