Presiding member wants DACF disbursement criteria reviewed

Akrofuom (Ash), Aug 6, GNA- Mr. Maurice Jonas Woode, the Presiding Member of the Adansi South District Assembly, at the week called on the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Environment to review the criteria for disbursing the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).

In an interview with GNA at Akrofuom, Mr Woode explained that some districts had no sources to mobilize internally generated funds, which was a criteria for sharing the DACF.

He cited that the Fumso market, which used to be the major source of generating revenue for the assembly now belonged to the Adansi North following the creation of that district.

Mr. Woode noted that some deprived districts were being supported by development partners like the Adventist Relief Agency and World Vision International but the Adansi South was not a beneficiary of such assistance.

He called on government to provide the Akrofuom Health Centre with adequate personnel and infrastructure to enable it meet the health needs of the people.

Mr. Woode also appealed to government to improve the road network in the area to facilitate development.
