President John Dramani Mahama has nominated Benedict Boadi, the Jomoro NDC Constituency Organizer in the Western Region, as the Jomoro Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), pending approval from the assembly members in the area.

Benedict Boadi is the elected assembly member for the Nawule electoral area and is currently serving his third term as an assembly member.

He worked tirelessly as the party's organizer to secure victory for President John Mahama and Dorcas Afo Toffey in the constituency in 2024.

In an interview with Daniel Kaku on Friday, Benedict Boadi expressed his gratitude to President John Mahama for the trust placed in him through his nomination as Jomoro MCE.

He also thanked the leadership of the party for recommending him to the President and promised to work diligently to develop the municipality.

Boadi took the opportunity to appeal to his fellow assembly members to confirm his nomination. He pledged to work closely with them to bring development to the Jomoro municipality.

A constituent, Jeff Yankey, congratulated Benedict Boadi on his nomination, expressing his happiness with the announcement.

"I extend my warmest congratulations to you on your well-deserved nomination as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for our cherished Jomoro Municipality," he said.

Yankey commended Boadi for his support in securing the party’s victory in 2024 and stated that Boadi deserved the nomination. He also expressed confidence that Boadi would be confirmed.

"Your appointment, I believe, is a reward for your unwavering dedication and sacrifices made over the years, both in your capacity as a party organizer and as an assembly member of the former district assembly, now a municipality. Undoubtedly, it’s based on merit," he stated.

He expressed optimism that Benedict Boadi would not fail.

"As you prepare to take on this new challenge, I would like to underscore the enormity of the task ahead. Jomoro Municipality has suffered from underdevelopment and neglect, despite being the largest of the three sister constituencies in the Nzema area. To change the status quo and shift the paradigms, Jomoro needs a holistic diagnosis, and I trust that you will work diligently to address the numerous gaps that have hindered our progress."

He called on all the people of Jomoro to rally behind Benedict Boadi to drive development in the municipality.

"Our municipality is blessed with immense potential, ranging from human resources to natural resources, including the internationally recognized Nzulezo stilt village. Yet, ironically, we continue to struggle for true development. While some challenges may require central government interventions, I am strongly convinced that we can collectively work to address many of the already known problems at the local level," he said.

He concluded by stating, "As MCE, you will need to take the lead in spearheading this change, particularly within the various communities in the municipality. I trust that you will deliver on this mandate to accelerate the much-needed growth that is truly befitting of Jomoro. I wish you Godspeed as you embark on this new journey. Once again, congratulations on your nomination."
