President Mahama Is A Failure- Atiwa Youth Association

Reflecting on the political history of Ghana particularly between the late 1960s to early 1980s, one would ask why president John Mahama is still at post
One would ask this tangible question because what is happening under Mahama's government are the worst of the basic issues that led to the overthrow of Nkrumah, Busia and Liman's Democratic elected governments.
Governments are brought to power to initiate and implement policies and programs geared towards solving the problems and hardships confronting the citizenry. The contrary has happened under Mahama led government. This government has taken the political arena for comics. Not the presidency nor the various ministries seem to be concerned about the unpleasant conditions facing Ghanaians.
Governments have come and gone but there had not been any government which has subjected Ghanaians particularly students, businessmen and women as well as the entire youth to severe hardship as this government has subjected us to.
It is very clear that this government has lost focus and can't guarantee the sustainable future of this generation nor generations to come.

GOVERNMENT VRS STUDENTS
Education is the priority of every individual or government who really think and care for future generation. Every government in the history of Ghana did prioritize education. Nkrumah's introduction of Free Compulsory Education to Kuffuor's introduction of Free Basic Education and the School Feeding and the issuing of Diploma to Teacher Training College were good policies to make the education arena very attractive and lucrative. The contrary has happened under this government. Every decision by this government at the education arena has more negatives than positive impacts. The government decision to oppose the opposition's free education worth much questionable. The scrapping of the Teacher Training Allowance has make life on campus very difficult for the trainees. We are not convinced that the government has resented its decision to compel students to pay utility bills. They will make the students pay it indirect. After all, no one can question the government in case of fee increment.
The government's inability to build the 200 Secondary Schools and the new 10 teacher training colleges they promised in their 2012 manifesto must not skip our mind.
What has this government done at the education sector that we can relate it to the "quality education" they promised?

GOVERNMENT VRS BUSINESSES

The private sector which has been the engine of the Ghana's economy is facing serious challenges under this government. This government has increased import and export duties than any government ever. Those importing are weeping as well as those exporting.
Dumsor Dumkoraa which has become a canker on Ghanaians is affecting businesses than any other area. Every business entity is complaining including Hotel Managements.
Initially, the dumsor was attributed to natural cause eg. No rainfall. Nature has proved the lies of the government to the general public. Now, we all know dumsor is Mahama-made (the negligence of Mahama's government to quickly put up measures to curtail it. The government don't care about the consequences of the power crisis rather, the government prefer to censor people from speaking their minds on the adverse effect of the dumsor and what they are facing. People are loosing their lives and property, companies are collapsing while smart ones are laying off workers yet the government is saying all is well.

GOVERNMENT VRS THE YOUTH
This government tagged itself as youthful yet has not been able to deliver comparing it to what they (NDC) called the "gerontocratic" government of Kuffuor. The future looks very threatening for the youth. The public sector is not employing, the private sector is laying of workers, businesses are collapsing and unemployment rate keep going higher. This has resulted in high crime rate because the youth can no longer bear the hot economic conditions.
The future looks very bleak for those doing their national service as well as those yet to graduate.

GOVERNMENT VRS THE ECONOMY
The economy of Ghana looks very terrible.
What happened that a nation at a middle income status coupled with single digit inflation and the fastest growing economy in the Sub-Sahara just about three (3) years ago, will fall drastically to zero and go to IMF for bailout?
What happened that a nation which debt stock as at early 2009 was Gh¢9.5 billion will suddenly jump to over Gh¢88 billion in just six years?
What happened that a nation with varieties of natural resources such as oil, gold, diamond, cocoa, manganese, bauxite, timber as well as able bodied human resources will within a twinkle of an eye, goes to IMF for bailout?
Where are the monies generated from these resources?
What happened that a nation with a currency exchange rate being Gh¢1 = US$1 just few years ago will suddenly loose it currency value to Gh¢4 = US$1?
What happened that Ghana, the star of Africa is ranked last in education among 76 nations?
What have caused the ineffectiveness of the various sectors?
The pressure emanating from Mahama's government kills faster than HIV/AIDS.
No water
No light
No jobs, poor roads,
High corruption, proliferation and institutional decay have become order of the day. Serial and contract killing as well as juju and sakawa activities are rampant due to the severe economic hardship.
The "quality education" and the "Better Ghana" this government promised have become a hoax.
The future is threatening. We can't entrust Ghana into the hands of this reckless government.
We have to vote for government ready to listen to our voices. We have vote for a party ready to provide jobs for the youth. We have to vote for a party ready to listen to workers. A party which cherish human resources of the nation.
We must safeguard our voters ID Cards for 2016 since that is the only way to liberate ourselves from servitude in tranquility.
Ghana must work again.
Ghanaians deserve better.
