President Kufuor commended for nominating DCE for Mfantseman

Mankessim (C/R), Sept 17, GNA - The assemblyman for Ahenbrom-Anaafo electoral area of Mankessim, Mr Vincent Biney-Amissah, has commended President J.A. Kufuor for nominating Mr Robert Quainoo Arthur as District Chief Executive for Mfantseman.

Mr Quainoo Arthur was one of the DCEs nominated about a week ago to fill vacancies in eight districts where their chief executives had been relieved of their posts.

Mr Biney-Amissah, one of the contestants for the post, congratulated Mr Quainoo Arthur on his nomination and assured him of his co-operation and support when he gets the approval from the assembly.

He gave the assurance in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Mankessim on Monday.

Mr Arthur was the General Manager, (Motor), of Quality Insurance Company before his nomination while Mr Biney-Amissah is the agent of the company in Mfantseman District.

He appealed to members of the Mfantseman District Assembly to vote massively for Mr Arthur to confirm the confidence the President has in him.

Mr Joseph Boison, the Mfantseman West Constituency Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, said the long absence of a substantive DCE has affected development programmes in the district and appealed to members of the assembly not to let the chance slip by.

The district had been without a substantive DCE since March 2003 when the former DCE was relieved of his post and the Regional Minister made to exercise oversight responsibility for the area.
