The family of the late Apostle Professor Emeritus Engineer Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, together with leaders of the Kristo Asafo Mission and executives of the Kantanka Group of Companies, has paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, to formally inform the Presidency of the passing of the renowned man of God, industrialist, innovator and farmer.

The delegation also used the occasion to officially invite the Presidency to the upcoming 40th-Day Commemoration of Apostle Safo’s passing, scheduled for Monday, October 20, 2025, at the University of Ghana Sports Complex.

Expressing his profound condolences, Julius Debrah described Apostle Kwadwo Safo as a true national icon who pioneered Ghana’s industrialisation revolution.

He fondly recalled moments from their youthful days at Taifa, where Apostle Safo often entertained community members with his exceptional guitar performances.

He urged the family to organise a funeral that truly reflects the stature and legacy of the late Apostle, noting that his impact on Ghana’s industrial development and innovation landscape remains unmatched.

“Apostle Kwadwo Safo’s legacies are enduring and inspiring; he must be celebrated in a manner that befits the remarkable life he lived,” he said.

Debrah further disclosed that President John Dramani Mahama would have loved to personally attend the meeting but was away on an official engagement in the Volta Region.

“The President holds in high esteem the works and legacy of the Apostle and even visited him during his period of ill health,” he added, assuring the family of the Presidency’s readiness to support efforts to give the late Apostle a befitting farewell.

On behalf of the family, Sarah Adwoa Safo, Head of the Safo family, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Chief of Staff and the Presidency for their warm reception and continued support.

She particularly thanked President Mahama for visiting Apostle Safo during his period of ill health.
