Presby Church to put up secondary school at Old Tafo

Kumasi, Feb 26, GNA- The Presbyterian Church of Ghana is to put up a Senior Secondary School at Old Tafo in Kumasi.

The Reverend Joseph Henry Ofosuhene, Ashanti Regional Manager of Presbyterian Schools, said this at the fifth speech and prize-giving day of Rockanje Presbyterian Experimental Basic School in Kumasi on Tuesday.

He said indiscipline is affecting the moral fabric of society especially the youth, and the church had found it necessary to establish more schools in the country to instil moral values in children. The day coincided with the inauguration of the school's computer science block constructed and equipped with 10 computers at the cost of 279 million cedis.

Rev Ofosuhene explained that the idea of building the school was mooted out by one Mrs Margaret Engels based at Rockanje, Holland, who was very instrumental in the establishment of the experimental basic school.

Mrs Engels, who was present at the ceremony, expressed the hope that the Church would continue to offer its co-operation to the community.

She expressed gratitude to Nana Adjin Frimpong II, Tafohene, for offering land to the church for the project.

Nana Adjin Frimpong who chaired the function, called on the youth to regard discipline as the only way to move the nation forward.
