Poly students hold symposium

Sunyani, Feb 11, GNA- Mr. Robert Sarfo-Mensah, an aspiring NPP Parliamentary candidate for Asunafo North on Tuesday urged party members to redouble efforts to enable the party to retain power.

He noted that the party was made up of intellectuals who could continue to contribute meaningfully to national development.

Mr. Sarfo-Mensah was speaking at a symposium organized by the Sunyani Polytechnic branch of Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) of the NPP at which 60 new female members were admitted to the school. He advised party members to research and study the policies of the government to enable them to disseminate its policies to capture more members.

Speaking on "Impact of women in nations politics", Mrs Owusu Kyeremaah, Women's organizer of the party in Sunyani West noted that female politicians were using their influences to eradicate gender imbalance and encourage more women to contribute to nation building through politics.

Women as peace lovers use their influence to curb most political differences, which can lead to a national disaster, she said, adding:

"Women and their persuasive culture help enhance development in our society".

Mrs Kyeremaah appealed to Ghanaian women to massively register during the voters' registration exercise to retain the NPP government in power.
