Police to mount road blocks for Tuesday’s Ecowas Session

The Ghana Police Service has announced traffic arrangements ahead of Tuesday’s Ecowas meeting.

The Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States is scheduled to hold its 47th Ordinary Session on Tuesday in Accra.

The Session is expected to review the mandate of John Dramani Mahama, the Chair of the Authority.

In a statement issued on Monday, the police say the Liberation Road from Accra towards Tetteh Quarshie Interchange will be partitioned in two with traffic from Accra using the outer lane and the dignitaries taking the inner, from 6am to 2pm.

After 2pm the arrangement will shift to the other lane from Opeibea House to AU Circle, with motorists plying the outer lane and dignitaries using the inner.

“Traffic police will be deployed at vantage points to assist road users,” said the statement signed by the Director of Public Affairs, Cephas Arthur.

It assured of adequate security arrangement during the event.

“The public is also entreated to co-operate with the Police for the success of the event.”
