The Ghana Police Service has cautioned the public to beware of the activities of middle men and fraudsters as it begins processes to recruit new officers.

The service has been hit by a number of recruitment scams in recent times with one of them leading to some servicemen including Director General of Human Resource and Administration, COP Patrick Timbillah, being interdicted.

Speaking to Class News, Public Relations Officer of the Police Headquarters, Inspector Richmond Mensah said enlisting into the Service will strictly follow processes that will be spelt out in adverts in the newspapers.

“We are about to come out with our recruitment advertisement, which will be in the media, hopefully from Monday (May 9). Those who are interested to join the Ghana Police Service can do so by going through our [processes] which will be placed in the daily graphic and the Ghanaian Times come Monday and Wednesday (May 11)”, he said.

The service has asked Ghanaians to report suspicious recruitment activities to the nearest police station or the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters.
