Police presence in Bole and its surrounding communities has brought calm and improved security however, local leaders are appealing for a review of the curfew due to its impact on economic and religious activities.

The Special Operations Team, led by ASP Bawa Jalil, Head of Operations in Bole, deployed 89 personnel on the night of September 5, 2025, to patrol Bole Township and border communities.

The operation aimed to enhance police visibility, deter crime and ensure rapid response to emerging threats.

During the patrols, officers retrieved a black Scutta mini motorbike (registration number MS 233-225) abandoned by an unidentified rider at the New Hospital Bangalores area.

According to the police service, "The bike has been secured at the Bole District Police Command as investigations continue.

"Police reported calm and order across all communities visited, noting that increased visibility has boosted public confidence and compliance with the curfew."

"On September 6, the Special Operations Team extended its efforts with a community engagement exercise, meeting residents, market women, vendors, business owners, and opinion leaders."

The police further detailed that residents acknowledged improved safety and peaceful coexistence under police watch, with no reports of violence or conflict.

However, many raised concerns about the curfew’s negative impact, particularly on evening trading activities and livelihoods.

"During an official interaction, the Chief Imam of Bole and his elders praised the professionalism and discipline of police personnel but appealed for adjustments to the curfew.

"They cited disruptions to religious activities, especially dawn and evening prayers, as a major challenge."

In a statement, the Ghana Police Service reiterated its commitment to safeguarding lives and property while strengthening partnerships with local communities.

Officials assured that feedback gathered from the patrols and engagements would inform future recommendations regarding curfew enforcement in Bole.
