Police Refresher course for Akwatia police

Akwatia, March 22, GNA - Police prosecutors and investigators from the Akwatia District on Tuesday ended a two-day workshop to sharpen the skills of the participants for effective performance.

The participants were taken through criminal procedure and criminal prosecution by two State Attorneys, Mr David Hodonu and Miss Akpeere Gyibodi Motey.

The Akyem Oda Divisional Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), M. K. Sam, told the participants to put to good use all that they had learnt. He noted that more often than not, police prosecution had a good case but lost it in court through lack of proper investigation or preparation before going to court.

He warned against 93arm-chain investigation" and advised that prosecutors and investigators should see their witnesses before going to court.

Some of the participants, after the workshop, told the Ghana News Agency that they had benefited immensely from the course and expressed the hope that further refresher courses would be organized for the police. Police Detective Inspector Stephen Atsu said; 93What we learnt during the two days would enhance our performance".

He commended the organizers of the workshop and the resource persons for a good job done.
