Police Commander appeals to government to resource the service

Nkroful (W/R) May 29, GNA - The Nzema-East Municipal Police Commander, DSP Lovelace Tesutor, has appealed to the government to resource the Police with basic facilities and logistics to enable them function effectively. He mentioned some of the challenges confronting his outfit as lack of personnel, inadequate vehicles for effective monitoring and the absence of a station telephone to facilitate effective communication.

DSP Tesutor expressed these concerns when the DCE for Ellembelle, Mr. Daniel K. Eshun, paid a working visit to three Police Stations in the District. He expressed gratitude to the DCE because it was the first time a Chief Executive had visited his outfit to interact with them. DSP Tesutor said the Police Administration in the Ellembelle and Nzema-East District had only one vehicle and that hampered their work and appealed to the DCE to liaise with the Interior Ministry to assist them. He also asked the Assembly to help fix the houses for Police Personnel, which were in bad state.

On his part, Mr. Eshun said his visit was to learn at first hand, problems facing them and how best to assist them. He said with the oil-find and mining activities in the area, there was the need to strengthen security. Mr Eshun commended them for their dedication to duty in the face of logical constraints and urged them to check indiscipline among drivers on the roads. 29 May 10
