Plot To Oust New Juaben Omanhene, Okyehene Underway

SECURITY ALERT

Trouble is brewing into the chieftaincy institution in the Eastern Region with some individuals scheming to undermine the respect of some powerful chiefs of the region.

Information available to the Daily Democrat reveals that some top people are hiding behind an alleged concern group to disturb the peace and tranquility enjoyed in the region, especially in the New Juabeng traditional area and the Akyem Abuakwa kingdom to advance their selfish agenda.

This anti development and warmongering move, architected by a group calling itself concern New Juaben Youth Association (NJYA) who are determined to oust the legitimate paramount chief of the New Juaben Traditional Area who doubles as the president of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs, Daasebre Prof. Emeritus Oti Boateng has been exposed.

Addressing a press conference, the spokesperson for the New Juaben Youth Association, Nana Yaw Anor Boateng II, Nsenrehene of New Juaben exposed the anti-chieftaincy motive behind the group when he attacked Daasebre Oti Boateng and accused him of lowering the standards of the custom and traditions of the people.

He contended that the customs, traditions and palace ethics of the Omanhene have fallen to its lowest ebb affecting issues relating to the chain of command associated with the chieftaincy institution.

He intimated that roles of chiefs were not followed but arbitrarily delegated without regards to custom and traditional norms, which is the hub around which the chieftaincy institution revolves.

“The oil, which gives impetus for these traditional institutions to malfunction, is the style of the Omanhene’s leadership.”

“This type of leadership has not only made it impossible for chiefs who have been subsumed in custom and tradition to feel a traditional nausea but has also repulsively prevented very important citizens, tourists, investors and the youth from participating with the zeal and enthusiasm, in all functions and durbars organized by the Omanhene”, he charged.

According to investigations conducted by the DAILY DEMOCRAT, the press conference was a well organized scheme to disrupt the otherwise peace and tranquility prevailing in the traditional area.

The press conference which was preceded by demonstration by some youth bused from Koforidua polytechnic is a useful smokescreen for the group to forcibly enter the Omanhene’s palace during the upcoming Akwasidae on Sunday to force him out.

The paper gathered that the master plan of the group was orchestrated by another group calling itself ‘al Queda of Ghana chieftaincy contractors’ who are determined to oust chiefs illegally in the country.

The clear intent is to force the Omanhene’s abdication of the stool he has legitimately occupied for nearly nineteen years and sweep his huge accomplishment under the carpet.

A source close to the group revealed that if the Koforidua plan succeeds, the next target will be Kibi where they will organize similar demonstration to oust the Okyenhene.

Once the plot against these two powerful and respected chiefs is achieved, the perpetrators will push deep into all chieftaincy disputes in the country and use their acquired wealth to foment future trouble in the country.

These new chieftaincy contractors will then offer any vacant stool or skin to the highest bidder and use this to create more wealth for themselves.

It is gathered that the intent of the Koforidua demonstration is to use Nana Topen who has been disqualified by a Committee of Enquiry and a Government white paper from ascending the stool as a new camouflage.

The vicious intent is for the barons behind the demonstration to offer the stool to another house if it becomes vacant with a price tag, marking the beginning of the end of chieftaincy institution in the country.
