Handing the items to the Home at a ceremony, he said it was his contribution to efforts at helping to take care of the children, to make things reasonably comfortable for them and give them a sense of belonging.

He pledged further assistance, saying, he would continue to share with the poor and the socially disadvantaged what God had blessed him with.

Mr. Amponsah-Marfo had earlier made cash and food donation to some identified widows and orphans at Asaam, near Mampong.

The Superintendent of the Babies’ Home, Madam Margaret Addai, said they were grateful for the gesture and promised to make sure that the items were used for the intended purpose.

The Orphanage, established, in 1967, by the Anglican Church is at present home to 40 children.

Madam Addai said many of its facilities had become old and appealed for public support to get them refurbished.

She said there were difficulties in paying their utility bills and called for assistance in that direction to offer them relief.
