Personnel of Recce Regiment assist in communal labour

Accra, Nov. 17, GNA - Personnel of Recce Regiment of Ghana Armed For= ces (GAF) are assisting in the construction of a six-classroom block for the Salvation Army School at Mamprobi in the Ashiedu Keteke Sub-Metropolitan Area. The assistance as part of their community-relations efforts was to assist the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) on its bid to abolish the school shift system. Major Edward Owusu Ansah, Second-in-Command of the Regiment, said th= e community-relations aimed at building cordial relationships with the communities for socio economic development and build good relationship between the military and civilians.

He said military personnel for the past 50 years in international pe= ace keeping operations had organised tree planting exercises nationwide in collaboration with the Forestry Department and planted more than 2,500 tr= ee seedlings. Nii Ajebu Lamptey, Former Ashiedu Keteke Sub-Metropolitan Area Chairman, commended the personnel for their efforts in assisting the AMA to abolish the shift system and improve teaching and learning.
