People of Pakro appeal to MP to regravel road

Nsawman, March 5, GNA - The chief and people of Pakro near Nsawam in the Akuapem South Municipality, has appealed to the Member of Parliament for the area, Mr Osei Bonsu Amoah to assist to regravel the 18 kilometre Pakro road.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Pakro on Thursday, Mr Kwame Mawoeku, the chief cocoa farmer in the area, said due to the bad nature of the road, vehicles have refused to ply.

He said as a result most farmers now carried their farm produce on their heads several kilometres before joining vehicles. Mr Mawoeku said if the road is regravelled, it would assist the farmers from Otukwadjo, Pakro, Tadankoro, Alafia, Odum and Obosono to easily send their foodstuffs to the Nsawam market to sell. He said the rains would set in soon, which would further destroy the road if nothing was done and added that an immediate action must be taken to avoid foodstuffs from going bad.
