Pastor commends Muslims at Sampa for tolerance, co-operation

Sampa (B/A), April 6, GNA - The Rev. Charles Oppong, Pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church in Sunyani has commended Muslims for their tolerance and co-operation during the Church's four-day Easter Convention and outreach programme at Sampa in Jaman North District of Brong Ahafo.

Rev. Oppong said the level of tolerance, solidarity and the high sense of maturity exhibited by Muslims and members of the Church during the Easter festivities touched him.

"If all religious and ethnic groups continue to work in co-operation like this, the nation's problems would be solved in no time", he said.

The pastor noted that ethnic and religious conflicts around the world had plunged nations into civil wars and unrest and quoting from the Holy Scriptures cautioned all to endeavour to live in peace. "For fear and the sheer desire to become rich quick, many seek interventions from fetish shrines and indulge in unscrupulous acts, which eventually burden them with problems", he said.
