Parliamentarian urges Muslims to educate their children

Kumasi, March 12, GNA - Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, Member of Parliament for Asawasi, has appealed to Muslims to take advantage of the Government's Capitation grant to educate their children. He said education was a right that must be enjoyed by every child therefore, it was incumbent on parents in the zongo communities to ensure their children enjoyed the right type of education to make them useful citizens in society.

Alhaji Mubarak made the appeal at a cultural durbar organised by Adukrom Catholic Church for the chiefs and people of Sawaba in Kumasi at the weekend.

It was to sensitise the people to sustain their rich cultural heritage.

He reminded Muslim parents that the only asset they could bequeath their children was education therefore, efforts should be made to assist the children to attain higher levels of education. Alhaji Mubarak commended the people for portraying their culture and urged them to live in peace and harmony with their neighbours. He commended the Catholic Church for promoting unity among the people in the area.

Mr Baba Fuseini, assemblyman for Adukrom, asked the people to ensure cleanliness in their communities to prevent diseases.
