Parents disappointed over BECE results

Akim Asamama (E/R), Sept. 26, GNA- Some parents of Akim Asamama, a town near Akim Abomosu, have expressed their disappointment over the bad results of their wards in the recent Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). Briefing the GNA at Akim Asamama, the spokesperson of the parents, Madam Mary Boadiwaa said they have learnt with shock the results of the examinations.

She disclosed that the L.A. Junior Secondary School (JSS) recorded only three passes out of 17 candidates presented. The parents said the results for the past three years had showed a downward trend with no improvement in sight. They have therefore appealed to the educational authorities "to stand on their feet" and personally monitor and supervise teaching and learning in the schools, most especially, those in the Atiwa District. The parents have also advised teachers to use the monies being paid by government namely capitation fees, feeding programme and any other fees like wisely.
