The President-General of the Center of Awareness Global Peace Mission, Professor Samuel Ato Duncan, has called on President John Dramani Mahama and other world leaders to support research into Real Intelligence (RI), which he believes could contribute to sustainable global peace and human development.

He said the concept should be developed alongside Artificial Intelligence (AI) to harness human consciousness and inherent intelligence in addressing some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

Delivering a presentation at the launching ceremony of Real Intelligence (RI) in Cape Coast on September 15, 2026, Prof Duncan said the initiative was the culmination of a 38-year journey dedicated to exploring human consciousness, peace and the inherent capabilities of human beings.

Prof Duncan traced the journey to 1988 when, at the age of 22, he began seeking answers to what he described as fundamental questions about humanity and why sustainable peace had remained elusive despite decades of global efforts.

According to him, those experiences and years of study, prayer, fasting and meditation eventually shaped the development of Real Intelligence and his broader vision for sustainable global peace.

He said the work culminated in a blueprint for sustainable global peace in 2024, with RI now being introduced as a tool to advance that agenda.

Prof Duncan argued that the persistence of wars, conflicts and other threats to peace despite decades of international interventions showed the need to explore additional approaches to sustainable peace.

According to him, peace goes beyond the absence of war and must be rooted in values such as love, truth and respect for human life.

Prof Duncan said the rapid advancement of AI had made it even more important for humanity to explore its own inherent intelligence rather than become excessively dependent on technology.

“We need Artificial Intelligence sometimes, but we should not be over-dependent on Artificial Intelligence,” he said.

He explained that while AI relies on data and technological systems to perform tasks, Real Intelligence, as he defines it, focuses on the deeper consciousness and inherent capabilities of human beings.

According to him, RI exists within every person and is rooted in what he described as the soul or inner consciousness.
He maintained that further research into the concept could help determine whether it could be translated into technologies and practical solutions for peace, human development and other global challenges.

“The real intelligence is the way to go,” he stated.

Prof Duncan also stressed the need for humanity to examine fundamental questions about human existence, including its origin, purpose and future.
“If you don’t know where you are coming from, definitely you wouldn’t know where you are going,” he said.

As part of his presentation, he introduced what he termed “Creative Energy,” which he described as the source of consciousness and the foundation of the universe.

He said he preferred the term Creative Energy because of the varying religious and cultural interpretations associated with God.

“I’m talking about a creative energy that created the universe and created every spirit, and created everything,” he said.
Prof. Duncan identified love, truth and peace as fundamental principles associated with the concept, arguing that they provide a foundation for peaceful coexistence.

Prof Duncan further introduced what he called the “Universal Systematic Intelligence Structure,” which he described as an underlying system responsible for order and processes within the universe.

Drawing on galaxies, solar systems, planets and the uniqueness of human biological characteristics, he argued that nature operates through complex systems and laws that humanity does not yet fully understand.

He also maintained that many technological innovations imitate or build upon principles already found in nature, reinforcing the need to investigate human capabilities alongside advances in AI.

Prof Duncan argued that persistent global challenges could require new knowledge and approaches to address their underlying causes.

“To every problem, there is a solution, and where a problem cannot be solved, it means the requisite knowledge out of which the solution could be drawn has not yet been applied,” he said.

Prof Duncan therefore appealed to governments and the international community to support scientific and technological research into RI to establish its practical applications.

“I made a passionate call to the President of Ghana, not only the President, but all presidents in the world,” he said.

“When it comes to the technology, that is where we need the President to help us develop the technologies and to do further research into this particular area,” he added.

Prof Duncan proposed that RI and AI should advance alongside each other, arguing that technological development should complement rather than diminish the role of human intelligence and consciousness.

Prof Duncan also raised concerns about growing global dependence on internet infrastructure, warning of the potentially serious consequences of a major disruption to digital systems.

He said further research into RI could help explore new approaches to technological vulnerabilities and alternative solutions, while stressing the need to subject the concept to further scientific and technological investigation.

Prof Duncan consequently called for collaboration among governments, scientists, researchers and other stakeholders to determine the potential applications of Real Intelligence in global peace, technological development and human advancement.

The Paramount Chief of the Oguaa Traditional Area, Osabarima Kwesi Atta II, who was also present at the ceremony, lauded Prof Duncan for his longstanding commitment to the promotion of peace and the development of the Real Intelligence initiative.

He pledged his unflinching commitment to supporting Prof Duncan and the Center of Awareness Global Peace Mission in their efforts to advance the initiative and promote sustainable peace.

Osabarima Kwesi Atta II also called for broader stakeholder support for initiatives aimed at fostering peace and human development.
