Over 60 cows stolen at Agomeda, residents want security beefed up

Robbers have stolen over 60 cattle from farms in Agormeda on the Dodowa-Somanya road in the Eastern Region.

The robbery incident which took place around 3:00am Saturday[today] saw the thieves tying up the Fulani herdsman and the owner of the facility before they made away with the cattle.

The thieves reportedly also stole a Kia Truck belonging to the owner with which they carted the animals.

The Assemblyman for the area, Noah Osabutey in an interview said both the helpless herdsman and the owner were set free by other family members who returned home from an All-night church service. They subsequently filed a report at the Ayikuma Police Station.

At the time of filing this report, police had received information that the stolen Kia truck had been spotted parked at Dodowa-Odumase. The police, the cattle owner and the herdsman are on their way to verify if it’s the stolen truck.

Residents say though this is not the first time cattle have been stolen in the area, they are shocked by the number of cattle involved in this particular robbery.
